In Readers' Workshop, we considered elements of setting (time, place, mood- taught earlier in the week) to compare two texts written by the same author. Students engaged in a shared write whereby they used comparing words to articulate sentences, and I wrote them down, making a paragraph.
In Math Workshop, students are using manipulatives and order of operations to attack and solve multi-step problems.
Yesterday in Science, we performed an experiment and collected data. Today we used that data to develop, write, and share our findings. Ask your child, why did the diet pops float? (A: They don't have sugar. Sugar weighs the regular pops down)
