Parenthesis

I was unexpectedly out sick yesterday.  Coming back today, I had numerous teachers stop and tell me how pleased the guest teacher was with our class.  As a result, I let them have a class lunch bunch (see below).  I'm so grateful to have such a good group of kids this year.  Thank you for all you do at home to encourage positive behavior. Way to go, third graders!

In Readers' Workshop, I met with book clubs in order to catch up from yesterday.

In Writers' Workshop, students grouped information to help them organize their writing and create paragraphs.

In Math Workshop, students explored equations with parenthesis.  They discovered that mathematicians use parenthesis in multi-step equations to show which part of the equation you solve first.

Homework:
  • Practice multiplication/ division facts (if necessary)
  • Read 20 minutes:
Reminders:
  • Field Day: Friday, May 13
