In Writers' Workshop, students explored different text structures to see how they affected the thinking and writing they're planning on their informational topic.
In Math Workshop, we "made it rain bingo chips..." We used manipulatives to model and identify the operation being used in word problems. Then we wrote the matching expression. Students also rounded to the nearest ten to make reasonable estimates. At stations, students worked in First In Math and played "Beach Ball Multiplication" to practice solving multi-digit multiplication equations using the matrix and partial products.
In Science, students used their data from our absorbency experiment to defend their claim about which paper towel is the most absorbent.
