Field Day Rescheduled
Due to impending weather, Field Day has been rescheduled from this Friday (5/13) to next Friday (5/20). A notice went home with students today. It's also posted below.
In Writers' Workshop, students are publishing their literary essays in the lab. These are due by Friday.
In Readers' Workshop, we identified time and place in texts to help us grow ideas about setting. Tomorrow, we'll start considering mood. Again, these lessons work toward the goal of comparing setting, plot, and theme of two different texts, written by the same author.
In Math Workshop, we used "Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally" (yes, we still use that mnemonic...) to solve multi-step equations, with mixed operations. To practice, we made "human equations" and solved following order.
In Science, we began our Mystery Powders Unit today. Ask you child what we did!
